As the sun completes its annual journey, casting its warm glow over the majestic Magaliesberg mountain range, we find ourselves standing at the threshold of another chapter in the timeless tale of Mount Amanzi. The Resort, a silent witness to the rhythmic dance of seasons, unveils a fresh and vibrant landscape with each passing moment, turning the very fabric of our surroundings into a masterpiece painted by the hand of time. In the present moment, amidst a palpable sense of tranquillity, we reflect, with gratitude, on the year that has passed, appreciating the blessings that 2023 has bestowed upon us.

There's a wondrous feeling in knowing that, just after the sun rises in 2024, and we experience a brief moment of calm, the chalets scattered across the Resort will awaken to join us in embracing a new dawn. Every Shareholder, every family, and every group of friends that has graced our Resort this year is valued, and we smile at the thought of the precious holiday memories we have created together. Before we close the chapter on this year, we want to share these memories and some exciting Mount Amanzi news with you.

From well-equipped chalets to clean and lavish lawns, the Mount Amanzi Team takes pride in the beauty of the Resort and they have been hard at work to ensure it is well-kept so that you can delight in all of it. These are some of the improvements that have been made since our last catch-up:

The patio furniture at all units has been replaced with updated furniture, including new steel chairs with slatted wooden seats and backs.

The public bathrooms next to the restaurant have been replastered and painted. All fascia boards have been replaced.

All our Resort walkways have been cleared and tidied up.

All the dams have been cleaned and maintained.

Light fittings in the Mini Market and in all of the Lapas have been repaired.

All pool loungers have been deep-cleaned.

New canvas gazebos have been erected at the Entertainment Centre.

The patio roofs of 11 units in Moepel Camp have been replaced.

The deck at the LPA offices is sporting new patio lounge sets, and new shade cover.

Our housekeeping and laundry staff teams have all been issued with new uniforms.

Conference Facilities

Visarend and Kuifkop halls have undergone major renovations, and the spaces have never been more elegant! All the tiles in both venues were replaced, the walls were repainted, and wooden acoustic panels, plants, and artwork were added to give both spaces a modern, yet professional, new look. We also installed overhead projectors and PA systems in the halls to complete the conference experiences that we offer our delegates. Both venues can seamlessly be converted from a conference venue to a wedding or event venue. The new foyer in Kuifkop Hall adds a touch of sophistication, creating the perfect space for welcome drinks.

The bathrooms were also revamped with elegant new tiles and granite counters, as well as fully functional stalls for people with disabilities.

Ongoing

Electric and plumbing repairs are ongoing.

Tiles at the braai areas and on the stairways are being replaced.

Over the past six months, we've dedicated ourselves to curating experiences that transcend the ordinary, leaving a permanent positive mark on the hearts of our valued Shareholders and guests. Here’s a peak at all the special days we’ve celebrated:

Father's Day

All the dads checking in during Father’s Day weekend received a warm welcome, with our Team presenting each one with a "Dad" mug accompanied by a sweet treat. As the day unfolded, folks gathered at the Old Kitchen Restaurant, where they all enjoyed scrumptious food and drinks. The celebration peaked with a captivating live performance by AJ DeVos, which had everyone dancing the night away.

Women's Day

To celebrate Women’s Day, we hosted a high tea at the Restaurant for all the queens gracing our Resort that weekend. We had a motivational speaker who shared insights on mental health and its importance, engaging our guests in meaningful conversations. With a turnout of 80 attendees, the event proved to be a resounding success. Following the inspiring session, we kicked things up a notch with a netball match for the ladies, adding a dose of friendly competition to an empowering day.

Heritage Day

On Heritage Day, our staff showcased the beauty of their cultures through their traditional attire, and our guests arrived at the Reception draped in colours of the South African flag. As they checked in, a delicious treat awaited them - sumptuous vetkoek paired with a refreshing drink. Throughout the weekend, our Entertainment Team hosted a series of games for everyone to enjoy, from movie trivia to table tennis challenges, ensuring a fun-filled weekend for all.

The Mount Amanzi Wedding Team loves creating custom weddings that are as unique and special as the couple having their big day with us. This is farewell to stiff, frivolous, budget-breaking weddings and welcome to tailor-made, meaningful and special wedding experiences.

Gratitude echoes through Mount Amanzi as we extend our heartfelt appreciation for the flood of positive feedback and stories shared by our Shareholders and guests. Your words are not just compliments; they are the heartbeat of what motivates us. home-away-from-home unit. An inventory list is available in your unit; any discrepancies must please be reported at Reception.

Please note that the VRS Head office will be closed from Friday, 22 December 2023, and will reopen for business on Thursday, 04 January 2024.

Be an early bird and secure your flexi week!

Don’t forget that availability is granted on a first-come-first-served basis, making the beginning of 2024 the prime time to lock in the ideal time for your holiday. The number of flexi weeks aligns with the number of our Shareholders, meaning that as time progresses, the pool of available holidays decreases. Don't risk missing out on your 2024 getaway – plan ahead and reserve your chosen week by booking early.
